This is a great time to take advantage of the warm weather to get your house in shape and running smoothly. So before you take that well-deserved vacation, take some time to check the following:

  • FALL

With the feel of fall in the air, it’s time to think about getting your home ready for colder weather. Much of the routine maintenance that needs to be done this time of year will not only help keep you cosy this winter, it will also save money on your heating bill and protect your biggest investment—your home.

    Seal Up Cracks and Gaps
    Apply Weather Stripping
    Inspect Your Roof
    Clean and Repair Gutters
    Trim Back Trees and Bushes
    Fertilize Your Lawn
    Winterize Lawn Mower

  • WINTER

With colder months approaching many homeowners are looking for ways to save money on the rising cost of heating their homes. The main goal during this time is to keep the warm air in and the cold air out! In the average home, if you added up all the cracks and gaps, the area would be approximately three square feet. Just imagine the amount of cold air that can come in through those spaces and of course the amount of warm air that can sneak out.
    Check Your Attic Insulation
Seal up Cracks Around Windows and Electrical Outlets
    Check and Replace Weather Stripping
Avoid Water Damage: Insulate exposed water lines and hose bibs
Set ceiling fans to rotate clockwise and circulate warm air
    Change heating system filters
Inspect Washing Machine hoses for leaks or damage.
    Prepare portable or standby generators
